About

Independent Research on Private Markets

PreIPOInvestments.com publishes independent research on private technology companies positioned for public listings.

We cover the IPO pipeline — who has filed, who is expected to, what the valuations are based on, and what would have to happen for them to hold. We cover the structures individual investors actually encounter when they try to participate, and we cover the risks those structures carry.

What We Do Not Do

Strict boundaries for independent coverage.

We do not sell securities

We are not a broker-dealer, an investment adviser, or a placement agent. We have no shares in any company available for purchase, and we are not able to obtain any.

We do not take payment

No company profiled on this site has paid to appear, to influence its coverage, or to have negative analysis removed.

We do not make recommendations

Company pages present the case for and the case against with equal effort. If a page reads as promotional, it has failed our editorial standard.

Why the Site Exists

Companies are staying private longer, and more of the value creation that used to happen after a listing now happens before one. That shift created a market — and, predictably, an industry of intermediaries selling access to it.

Most of the information available to someone considering a private market position is produced by someone who benefits from the transaction occurring. The valuations quoted are the ones that make the position look attractive. The timelines quoted are the optimistic ones. The fee structures are described in the fewest words possible.

We publish the information you would want before talking to any of those people.

How We Make Money

We generate leads through our assessment funnel that establish accreditation status. This information may be passed to third-party sponsors and brokers with your explicit consent.

Disclosure of the business model is what separates independent research from unlabelled marketing. Our research remains strictly independent and coverage is never affected by these arrangements.
